This presentation will discuss assessment and intervention strategies for children with severe speech sound disorders, focusing on linguistically based analysis, target selection, and intervention methods. Practical strategies for implementing assessment and subsequent treatment based on the research of Gierut and colleagues will be reviewed.

Teresa Farnham has implemented this phonologic selection process in a public school setting, with significant student success in a relatively short time. Key components of effective therapy for severe speech sound disorders will be the primary focus of the session, including early literacy strategies for children who have limited know. 

Michelle Hill (SLP at Avon Lake) will be presenting on how to utilize rubrics for data collection during the afternoon time.

EVENTS WITH NO REGISTRATION FEE:   We must receive your cancellation in writing by emailing [email protected] at least 24-hours  prior to the event.  If you do not cancel or are a no-show, you/your district will be invoiced a $25 registration fee since our presenters prepare their presentation and may charge an event/planning fee.
