Ensuring the safety of students and staff is a top priority for every school. A well-trained and confident threat assessment team is essential for identifying, assessing, and effectively managing potential threats in K–12 settings. Teams that consistently follow established protocols and policies not only protect their school community but also build trust and create a culture of safety.
The Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) program is approved by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) and meets the House Bill 123 Threat Assessment Training Requirements, providing schools with a structured, evidence-based framework for threat assessment.
OUR CSTAG OFFEREINGS:
Required for all members of school threat assessment teams. This training equips participants with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to conduct thorough, consistent threat assessments in accordance with HB 123 requirements.
- Refresher / Recertification Training
Designed for individuals or teams who have completed CSTAG previously. Recertification is required every three years to ensure skills remain current and teams stay aligned with best practices.
- In-District Coaching & Consulting
Ongoing support is available to help districts implement CSTAG effectively, strengthen team practices, and address challenges unique to each school community. Coaching ensures teams are prepared, confident, and consistent in their approach, improving both safety and staff readiness.
By investing in trained, confident, and well-supported threat assessment teams, districts can respond proactively to potential threats, reduce risk, and create a safe, supportive environment where students and staff can thrive.
