Biographical Information


Kenneth A. Siemen is currently Staff Development Coordinator with the Positive Education Program (PEP). During his 30 + years with PEP, he has held positions in the classroom, as a case manager and, for approximately 25 years, as program director at 4 of PEP’s day treatment centers. He opened PEP’s first day treatment program in Lorain County, Willow Creek, in 2005. He is a certified trainer in the Neurosequential Model in Education (NME), a senior trainer in Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI) and PEP’s lead trainer in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). Ken has a special interest in understanding trauma’s impact on the child, how trauma affects the developing brain and the strategies schools and mental health agencies can implement to foster greater resiliency and self-regulation skills in these children.

Aaron Muttillo is the Clinical Services Director of Positive Education Program, a local mental health agency whose mission is to help troubled and troubling children learn and grow. He has worked as a school psychologist for the past 15 years and is currently pursuing his doctorate in Urban Education at Cleveland State University.  Aaron has a special interest in understanding the role of school policy in creating educational environments that are trauma sensitive and able to meet the needs of diverse learners.
